Zooey Deschanel revealed why she's feeling "a lot of pressure" when it comes to planning her nuptials with fiancé Jonathan Scott on the Dec. 17 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast
The Merv star shared that there was a particular detail that was tough to nail down, especially due to Scott's work
The actress, who was previously married to Ben Gibbard and Jacob Pechenik, also revealed why she wanted this wedding to be extra memorable
Zooey Deschanel says wedding planning with her fiancé Jonathan Scott might be a bit more complicated than she expected.
The star of Prime Video's new holiday movie Merv, 45, shared on the Wednesday, Dec. 17 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast that while she has begun wedding planning with her HGTV star fiancé, 47, it has been tough to nail down certain details of the nuptials.
“It’s really like a lot of pressure, because [Scott] designs incredible spaces. And I’m like there’s no space worthy of such a wedding,” Deschanel admitted.
“It’s really hard to find [a venue] that’s not like a gazillion dollars,” she added.
Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper sympathized with the actress, saying that wedding planning is "fun, but it's stressful,” and noted that she experienced a similar thing before her own 2024 nuptials.

The New Girl alum, who was previously wed to Ben Gibbard and Jacob Pechenik — with whom she shares daughter Elsie Otter and son Charlie Wolf — also shared that she wanted this wedding, in particular, to be memorable.
“We’ve both been married before, right?,” she said, also referencing Scott’s previous marriage to Kelsy Ully. “So, I’m like, this [wedding] has to be the most fun.”
The actress previously told PEOPLE earlier this month that the pair were "not in a rush" to walk down the aisle. Deschanel also shared that the couple were in a "more exploratory" phase of their wedding planning.
“We're not in a rush because we’ve been together so long, so it’s not like we’re like, ‘We gotta get married.’ I’d rather find the right place, the right place and situation, so that it’s really special and fun,” she shared at the Dec. 4 premiere of her new film Merv.
Deshanel also opened up in the Call Her Daddy podcast about how Scott surprised her with an engagement at Edinburgh Castle in August 2023 and the several signs she dismissed ahead of the engagement — including her now-fiancé offering to iron her clothes ahead of the proposal.
"There were like all these things that I flagged, but didn't like... I just said like, 'That's weird,' " she recalled.

She noted that the Property Brothers star told her she had to "dress kind of nice" for the tour of Edinburgh Castle, and so she opted to wear a “silk blouse and a silk skirt” from her suitcase that were wrinkled.
"He's like, 'Oh, would you like to iron those?' And I was like, 'No.' I was like, 'Iron? That sounds terrible. That sounds like work that I don't want to do.' And he's like, 'I'll iron them.' "
Deschanel said that her mother was also chiming in from afar and giving Scott pointers. "I guess my mom was like, 'She's going to need hair and makeup.' And [Jonathan] was like, 'You should make sure to do your hair for this random tour.' "
