Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin clash on 'The View'. Credit:
- *The View* cohosts were divided on whether or not to support former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene's reformation as a Donald Trump critic.
- Sunny Hostin said "we should reject her altogether," while Whoopi Goldberg later told her to "calm down" during the debate.
- "They voted for Donald Trump and they knew. Donald Trump has not changed one bit," Hostin maintained.
There's a rift in *The View*'s Hot Topics table over whether or not Americans can come together from both sides of the political aisle to reject Donald Trump.
Moderator Whoopi Goldberg began the talk show's latest episode by introducing a discussion on former congresswoman, controversial political figure, and ex-MAGA loyalist Marjorie Taylor Greene, whose attitude on Trump shifted across the last year as she began to speak out against the president.
Greene has appeared on* The View* to defend her light change in principles. On a recent episode of *Pod Save America*, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) praised the Georgia conservative's public condemnation of Trump as an indication that she's "gotten off the sycophant train" and might be willing to "figure out how do we save our country from the disaster that this man has created."
"Can people say, yes, we disagree on many things, but we agree on this, that this can not continue?" Goldberg asked on *The View*, while panelist Joy Behar said that "it seems to me that they are seeing the emergency they're in right now with Trump in the White House," later elaborating, "I always will welcome. You've seen the light? Come right into my tent, there's a lot of room for the never-Trumpers and the non-Trumpers."

Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin disagree on 'The View'.
Sara Haines said that, while she'll welcome one-off instances of Greene changing her mind on specific policies or issues, she's uncomfortable with a full-on embrace of a figure she feels stood on problematic ideals during her political career — including, as Haines alleged, dancing in "circles of antisemitism."
"So what should you do, reject her altogether?" Behar asked, to which Sunny Hostin quickly replied, "Yes, we should reject her altogether," while Behar pushed back, telling Hostin to "take the win" and embrace change alongside Greene.
"Why are you so welcoming, Joy?" Hostin asked. "If they want to come over to my side, I'm taking them," Behar said, citing that Greene's perspective "speaks to the MAGA base" and could be beneficial for Democrats to use to their advantage in future elections.

Hostin and Goldberg then lightly clashed over the issue, with Goldberg stressing that Greene's outspoken nature could land with right-wing voters, and even change their minds on supporting Trump in the future.
"In terms of welcoming her with open arms like Joy wants to do and give a big bear hug, I'm not going to do that. I just think that if you voted for Donald Trump three times, when you voted for him this last election when we told you what was gong to happen.... this country is on fire," Hostin said, later adding, "It is unforgivable."
When Alyssa Farah Griffin, conservative *View* panelist and former Trump White House staffer, said she sided with Behar, Hostin cut her off to ask, "You want to give Marjorie Taylor Greene a big bear hug?"
This prompted Goldberg to step in, warning Hostin, "Let her tell you what she wants to do. Calm down!" while Behar could be heard laughing in the background.

Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin debate on 'The View'.
"I look for the movement forward we could have on that one issue," Griffin explained. "Politically speaking, there are some candidates and some Democrats who've been out there who say, 'I don't want a single Trump voter, I don't need a single one.' Jasmine Crockett famously said that and James Talarico beat her for the senate nomination in Texas."
Griffin said that people should "be willing to grow your coalition with people who got duped" into voting for Trump in the 2024 election against Vice President Kamala Harris.
"They voted for Donald Trump and they knew. Donald Trump has not changed one bit. He's the same person," Hostin said, though Griffin countered, making a point that she's long voiced at the table: "If it was just about being against Donald Tump, the Democrats would've won in 2024," she speculated.

Goldberg finished the segment with a final call to those watching at home.
"If you don't tell them [to stand against Trump], they're going to continue to believe there's nothing wrong here," Goldberg said. "If *you're* saying there's something wrong, there must be something wrong, because you voted with him 99 percent of the time. It's not a bear hug, it's like, okay, finally, glad you saw the light, go and tell it on the mountain, tell your people!"
