- The *Pitt *actress recalls her former husband visiting her in "scary" ways at first.

- Hopper eventually came to LaNasa in a dream, where he informed her that "he was okay and that he wasn't in pain anymore," she says.

For Katherine LaNasa, her bond with ex-husband Dennis Hopper transcended the mortal plane.

The star of *The Pitt*, who was married to Hopper from 1989 to 1992, said in a recent *W Magazine* interview that her late ex came to see her multiple times after his 2010 death at 74.

"I do believe in ghosts. The ghost of Dennis Hopper would not leave me alone for a really long time," LaNasa told the outlet. "We've been divorced a very long time, but I was the last wife that he'd been with that he wasn't currently divorcing, so I think that level of intimacy when you're dying is maybe only something you can do with a partner?"

Following their separation, Hopper went on to marry actress Victoria Duffy in 1996. However, after 14 years of marriage, he ultimately filed for divorce from his fifth wife just five months before his death.

LaNasa went on to detail the "scary" ways that Hopper first visited her. "He came one time looking like when he was at the Academy Awards," she remembered. "He was in a wheelchair, and he fell down, and it was super upsetting."

His paranormal presence also had a physical effect on her.

"He used to come over me in a sweat and I told him he had to leave me alone, and then he did," she said. "And then I felt really weird about it. And then the day that I told someone how weird I felt about it, I walked home an odd way and ran into a gallery that had all of his photographs up, and a photograph of him in the very back of the gallery with a fedora on winking at the camera.”

After seeing the portrait, LaNasa explained that she felt Hopper was in "letting me go." Still, she noted that he stopped by one last time in a dream.

"We were both in a cafeteria in Greece, and he told me that he was okay and that he wasn't in pain anymore and he was good," she said. "And I never heard from him again."

Later in the interview, LaNasa recalled how a party thrown by *Love Boat* producer Douglas S. Cramer led her to both meet her future husband and become an actress.

"That's where I met Dennis Hopper, who also collected art," she said. "Ended up marrying the guy, moving out to L.A. and realizing there was no dance out there, saw a PBS program about [acting coach] Sandy Meisner, and tracked him down and studied with him."

The couple, who were together for roughly five years, also welcomed a son, Henry Lee, in 1990.

After their divorce, LaNasa would go on to marry *3rd Rock From the Sun* actor French Stewart. The pair tied the knot in 1998 and went their separate ways in 2009. LaNasa has since remarried, wedding *Melrose Place* star Grant Show in 2012.
