Time travels fast. The first season of Outlander: Blood of My Blood has already come and gone. The original Outlander series has also almost finished airing its last few episodes, but there’s still much to look forward to, Sassenachs. Here's what we know so far about the second season of Outlander: Blood of My Blood.
The show will return this fall.
Halfway through the run of the final season of Outlander, Starz gave fans something to continue to look forward to in the form of the very first look at season two of Blood of My Blood. The 30-second clip doesn’t include dialogue—nor does it reveal much about the season one finale’s cliffhangers—but it does offer some vivid images of all of the main characters with a few hints of what’s to come, including a major battle and a masquerade ball. Starz also confirmed Blood of My Blood will return this fall, although it did not specify a premiere date.

Even before the show premiered in August, Starz announced that it had renewed the series for a second season when it dropped the teaser trailer for Blood of My Blood in June, underscoring the network’s confidence in the new prequel.
“Season one was finished before we got the pickup, which came just after,” Matthew B. Roberts told Town & Country in July. “We had already started thinking about the stories, hoping for renewal, and knew where we wanted to go, so we planted that into season one. I don’t like to use the word ‘better,’ but a lot of people have said how excited they are about the stories we’re telling.”

The cast and crew started shooting season two on location in Scotland at Wardpark Film and Television Studios, the same studio space where the original Outlander series was filmed, not long after first season premiered. “We’re back on track for season two, so yeah, another one coming straight down the barrel,” Rory Alexander, who plays the young Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser, told T&C during the press junket for season one this summer.
We’ll update this as we learn more about Outlander: Blood of My Blood season two.
