According to Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack, Prince Harry will return to the U.K. in September for the annual WellChild Awards. He has supported the children’s charity for nearly 20 years.
The report claims King Charles remains willing to offer Harry a room at Buckingham Palace during the visit. However, insiders say that gesture has created tension behind palace doors before.
A palace source told the publication, “Nothing has changed. The King may want Harry under his roof, but many of the people who work there don’t.” The insider claimed many staff members felt “deeply betrayed” after Harry released “Spare” and participated in several high-profile interviews.
“They felt deeply betrayed by everything that followed Spare and the interviews, and that resentment is still very real,” the source added.
The report also claimed palace staff previously pushed back against an earlier plan to house Harry at Buckingham Palace. According to Shuter, palace officials withdrew the accommodation offer after staff pushed back.

Now, with another visit reportedly approaching, insiders expect similar concerns to resurface.
“The atmosphere would be incredibly uncomfortable,” another source claimed. “People will remain professional because that’s their job, but don’t mistake professionalism for forgiveness. Those are two very different things.”
The report says King Charles still wants to rebuild his relationship with Harry. One insider suggested that repairing family ties involves more than father and son.
“Reconciliation isn’t just about repairing a relationship between father and son,” the source said. “Harry also has to win back the people who keep the monarchy running every day, and that may be the toughest challenge of all.”
The insider ended with one final prediction, saying, “Don’t be surprised if there’s an unusual number of staff calling in sick the week he arrives.” Neither Buckingham Palace nor Prince Harry has publicly commented on the latest claims.
