Love Island‘s Serena Page said she “would never” let boyfriend Kordell Beckham choose her engagement ring

The season 6 winner claimed she’s a “control freak” during an episode of the Kaylor’s Crash Out podcast

The couple opened up to PEOPLE about their relationship following their win in 2024

Love Island‘s Serena Page wants to be hands-on when it comes to her future engagement ring.

During an appearance on the Sunday, July 26 episode of the Kaylor’s Crash Out podcast, the 26-year-old reality star said that she has no plans to let boyfriend Kordell Beckham choose her ring.

“I’m not gonna get a surprise ring,” she shared. “I would never leave the ring I’m gonna wear on my hand for the rest of my life in the hands of a man. What the hell? I would never.”

Serena said that she plans to sort out all the details for her dream ring, including the cut and band, and will “give it to a trusted adult that he’ll know to hit up when the time comes.”

“I’m a control freak when it comes to like, everything,” she added.

Serena and Kordell, 24, won season 6 of Love Island USA in 2024.

The pair coupled up during the first episode of the Peacock reality show and during the July 21 finale, American voters crowned the duo as their favorite couple — and they walked away with a $100,000 prize.

After their win, the couple opened up to PEOPLE about their relationship and how they keep the flame alive.

“More of us just spending time with each other, going out, doing these things that we planned,” Kordell said. “The amusement parks, all of the dates, travel the world, seeing our family in person this time, things like that. And then within time, I will move out there whenever she’s ready. I know she got to get everything situated and stuff like that. I want her to have as much time as she needs possible. Don’t want to rush anything.”

The couple also addressed the rings they exchanged on the show after a re-coupling when Kordell had to choose between Serena and another contestant, Hannah.

“And we were just in our own little world and I seen a ring on her and I was like, ‘Hey, that looks pretty cool. I got mine,’ ” Kordell recalled. “And then as we were joking, I kind of turned into a sentimental thing and I was like, ‘Hey, let’s exchange rings so we can always have a piece of each other with us, whatever happens.’ And almost damn near like a little promise ring and everything, but just with more sentimental value to it between the feelings that we have towards each other because at that moment, after that, that’s where things really started to progress for us.”
