Despite flirting with controversy in recent years and seeing multiple organizations and brands cut ties with or distance themselves from him as a result, Kanye West recently earned a huge sum of money via two sold-out shows. Thus, he has proven that he still has a solid following even if he held troublesome views, posted inflammatory social media content, and displayed erratic behavior.

Kanye West made over $33 million in sold-out shows, claims report

Despite controversy, Kanye West reportedly earned over $33 million via two sold-out shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 1 and 3, 2026, marking a major comeback in his music career. His Friday show reportedly grossed over $18 million in ticket sales (via Bloomberg). Notably, his second sold-out show reportedly featured special guests, including rappers CeeLo Green, Lauryn Hill, and Travis Scott, as well as his eldest daughter, North West. His wife, Bianca Censori, also showed up to support him, according to some reports.

This piece of news comes shortly after his 12th and latest studio album Bully’s strong commercial debut. Last week, the album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, with reported 152,000 album-equivalent units, including 56,000 pure album sales and 96,000 streaming units or 98.43 million on-demand streams.

Ye is set to capitalize on this comeback by headlining three live shows at London’s Wireless Festival, scheduled for July 10, 11, and 12 at Finsbury Park. However, this has met some resistance from those wary of the rapper. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer told The Sun that West’s history of celebrating Nazism and his antisemitic remarks made his booked gigs “deeply concerning.”

Meanwhile, Pepsi, originally set to sponsor the event, pulled out of the sponsorship. Diageo, owner of Guinness, Ciroc, Captain Morgan, and Johnnie Walker, also withdrew.

Moreover, the British charity Campaign Against Antisemitism concurred with Starmer. They stressed on X (formerly Twitter) that the government could “ban anyone from entering the UK who is not a citizen and whose presence would ‘not be conducive to the public good’.”

Furthermore, education secretary Bridget Phillipson brought up West’s past antisemitic comments. Calling them “completely unacceptable and absolutely disgusting,” she stressed the rapper shouldn’t appear at Wireless Festival (via BBC).
