Jeopardy! contestant Jamie Ding from New Jersey won $35,000 on the April 16 show

The win extended his consecutive victory run to 25 and he is now in the top five of show winners who have the longest consecutive victory streaks

His 25-day win streak total is $702,000, making him seventh on the list of highest winning contestants during the regular season

A new Jeopardy! champion is rising in the history books.

Jamie Ding from New Jersey extended his winning streak on the popular quiz show on Thursday, April 16 — and entered the top five of show winners who have the longest consecutive victories, according to N.J. outlet The Record.

Ding won his 25th straight game in the show after garnering $27,600 throughout the show — over triple the amount of the other two contestants, Andrew Younger and Erin Adams, who had $6,200 and $3,800.

The final Jeopardy! Question ended up extending his funds even further. Host Ken Jennings asked the contestants: "In 2005, a church begun in 1882 became the tallest building in this city."

Ding correctly wrote, “What is Barcelona,” after betting $7,400, which brought his final total to $35,000. He successfully defeated his opponents Younger and Adams.

The Jeopardy! contestant is the fifth person on the all-time consecutive victory list and continued to shorten his distance to James Holzhauer, who won 32 consecutive games in 2019 before eventually losing the streak.

The other top three contestants with the highest win streaks include Matt Amodio and Amy Schneider, who have won 38 and 40 consecutive games respectively during the regular season, per Jeopardy.com. Jeopardy! host Jennings, 51, still continues to top the charts with a 74-game win streak.

However, Ding’s Coryat score — a score named after a former contestant which calculates the sum of the natural value of any clues without Daily Doubles or Final Jeopardy — topped Jennings’ during a March 17 show when he earned $42,400, per The Record.

Ding — whose 25-day total is $702,000 — is also seventh place on the list of highest winning contestants during the regular season.

He is trailing behind another New Jersey native, Cris Pannullo, who won $748,286 after a 21-consecutive game win streak in 2022, according to Jeopardy.com.

Ding also moved up to 12th place on the list of highest winning contestants on Jeopardys!’s all-time money list, according to The Record.

The New Jersey contestant, who works for the state’s Housing and Mortgage Agency will go on to compete in the show’s Tournament of Champions episode, which happens at the end of the season.
