Frankie Muniz has always had a thing for fast cars. While millions knew him as Malcolm — star of the hit suburban sitcom Malcolm in the Middle — few realized where his real passion lay.
At 16, he indulged that passion when he bought his first car, a Volkswagen Jetta, the exact vehicle used in the first Fast and the Furious movie.
In a recent interview, Muniz shared that he drove the iconic Jetta to the set every day and joked that the car was probably more recognizable than he was at the time.

He eventually sold the vehicle, bought it back again, then sold it for good. It now lives in a museum.
Muniz, meanwhile, parlayed his love of cars into a dream career, that of a professional racing driver. Today, he competes in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, carving out an enviable second act.
However, the lure of Hollywood has now pulled him back. Currently, he's starring in the Malcolm in the Middle revival series, Life's Still Unfair…Which certainly hasn't been the case for Muniz himself.
