Bruce Campbell shared an update on his cancer journey months after announcing his diagnosis.

ā€œIt’s a bit of a whack-a-mole life that I have to get used to,ā€ the actor said on Tuesday’s episode of the Inside of You podcast.

He added that he is ā€œdoing as well as you can do for having cancer.ā€

Evil Deadstar Bruce Campbell isn’t letting his cancer diagnosis define him.

ā€œI think I’m doing as well as you can do for having cancer,ā€ the actor began on Tuesday’s episode of the Inside of You With Michael Rosenbaum podcast. ā€œI go through most of my day not thinking that I have any cancer. It’s a bit of a whack-a-mole life that I have to get used to.ā€

Campbell joked that during the ā€œearly monthsā€ of his illness, there was a lot of ā€œbadā€ information thrown at him.

ā€œFor breakfast, we’d have a s--- sandwich with a side of what the f---,ā€ he quipped. ā€œThat was a couple month period where the information would come in all of it’s cryptic or bad or whatever.ā€

Campbell continued, ā€œIt’s a lot of schooling I didn’t want to go to. It’s a lot of meetings I didn’t want to go to.ā€

The Burn Noticealum told listeners that cancer meetings were ā€œthe most boring of all and time consuming.ā€ He said ā€œyou have to show upā€ because of the scans.

ā€œThe clinical phrase that — I love these phrases — it’s treatable, not curable,ā€ Campbell added. ā€œIt’ll be something that will be with me until I croak, which, with treatment, is earlier than you want to croak.ā€

Campbell’s plan is to ā€œdo treatment that I can deal with and that worksā€ as of now.

ā€œBut your body’s pretty smart, apparently,ā€ he said. ā€œIf your body wants to kill you, it’ll f---ing kill you.ā€

Campbell took to social media in March to announce his cancer diagnosis.

ā€œThese days, when someone is having a health issue, it’s referred to as an ā€˜opportunity,’ so let’s go with that — I’m having one of those,ā€ he shared via X at the time. ā€œIt’s also called a type of cancer that’s ā€˜treatable’ not ā€˜curable.’ I apologize if that’s a shock — it was to me too.ā€

The actor said he wasn’t going to ā€œgo into any more detailā€ but was posting because ā€œprofessionallyā€ things were changing.

ā€œFear not, I am a tough old son-of-a-bitch and I have great support, so I expect to be around a while,ā€ the announcement concluded. ā€œAs always, you’re the greatest fans in the world and I hope to see you soon!ā€

During Tuesday’s podcast episode, Campbell said he has ā€œtons of hopeā€ about his future. The actor also shared that the cancer has given him a different perspective about life.

ā€œIf you want to get your financial house in order from A to Z, get cancer. If you want to rekindle with friends and family that you haven’t talked to in decades, get cancer,ā€ he said. ā€œIf you want to refocus your life, laser focus only on the things that bring you joy and remove the drudgery from your life forever, get cancer.ā€
