Denise Richards Reveals Where Daughters Sami and Lola Stand After Feud and How She’s Handling Divorce (Exclusive)

Denise Richards says her daughters, Sami and Lola Sheen, recently bonded during a sleepover after past tensions

As she navigates a public divorce, Richards says she's focused on embracing a new chapter in her life

Denise Richards' daughters Sami and Lola Sheen appear to have mended fences.

Ahead of her return to The Bold and the Beautiful on May 28, the actress, 55, told PEOPLE that Lola had recently slept over at Sami's despite their past ups and downs.

"They called me on FaceTime, and I was so happy," she says. "It was so fun as a mom to see my daughters hang out and have a sleepover. My sister and I used to do that. We're close in age too, so I love that. It was nice."

The sister bonding moment came more than four months after Sami, 22, accused Lola, 21, on TikTok of dating her ex-boyfriend. Lola denied the allegations at the time, saying, "I am single, I am not talking to anyone, and I'm definitely not dating her ex-boyfriend."

Since then, Lola and Sami — Richards' daughters with ex Charlie Sheen — have reunited publicly at the premiere for Billie Eilish's concert movie Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D) in Los Angeles on May 7.

Asked what she would tell herself at her daughters' ages, Richards quips, "Well, that would be a ginormous book."

"Just keep on going. Don't look back," she continues. "'This too shall pass' is what my late mom would always tell me, so I keep saying it, but I'm getting tired of the saying right now though. I would like it all to pass for a while."

Richards is currently in the midst of a tumultuous divorce from Aaron Phypers, with whom she shares daughter Eloise, 15. She spoke out about her experience on the most recent season 15 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

"It's really hard going through a divorce as it is, but then to have it so public..." she says. "I originally wanted everything to be private, but it takes two people in the divorce to feel that way, so I had to make hard decisions to have it be out there knowing that it would be out there. So it was a very hard decision, but I would like to — once I get through this a little bit more — be able to help other women who are in similar situations that I've been in too."

Through it all, Richards says she's tried to maintain her "glass half full" mindset.

"I'm very grateful for everyone in my life," she says. "I have such an amazing support system with friends and family and people I work with, so I'm very grateful."

As she waits for her divorce to be finalized, she has her sights set on the future.

"This is a whole new chapter for me in general," she says. "No one goes into a marriage thinking they're going to get divorced. So, my whole life has changed on every level, but I feel so good and I'm just in such a happy place and happy to continue working and being able to do what I love to do."
