Coldplay frontman Chris Martin surprised shoppers in central London this week, stepping into a charity store and turning a normal afternoon into a soft, emotional concert.
The unexpected moment happened at the Choose Love Store on Regent Street, where Martin sang and played guitar for people who were simply there to shop. The performance came just days after he stunned wedding guests by appearing in person to play for a couple’s first dance, adding to a growing wave of feel-good moments led by the singer.
The band shared the intimate scene on Instagram, showing Martin seated with his guitar as shoppers quietly gathered around him. Some sat on chairs, others on the floor, forming a small circle of listeners.

He performed “All My Love,” a song that has recently taken on a special meaning because of his surprise appearances. The crowd stayed calm and respectful, listening closely, and at one point, their soft voices joined his as they sang along.
Coldplay captioned the post by explaining that Martin had surprised shoppers at the Choose Love Store, a non-profit organization, and encouraged people to visit the charity’s shop at 245 Regent Street before Dec. 24.

This was not the first time in recent days that Martin chose surprise over spotlight. Only days earlier, he quietly arrived at a wedding in Staffordshire to perform “All My Love” live for newlyweds Abbie and James Hotchkiss during their first dance.
The plan began when the groom’s mother asked Martin for a simple video message. Instead, he appeared in person, wearing a beanie and casual clothes and played the piano while the couple danced. Many guests did not even realize it was him at first.
After that wedding performance, venue owner Alexander Brown told BBC the moment made the couple’s special day even more special. He shared that Martin’s team arrived hours early to make sure the piano was tuned properly and that the singer even flew in by helicopter. Wedding guests later said they were shocked but respectful, choosing not to interrupt the couple’s moment.
As someone who has followed Coldplay for years, moments like this feel true to who Martin has always been in public. He often speaks about love, connection and empathy, and here he showed those values through action. There was no stage, no bright lights, just a guitar, a song and a group of strangers sharing a calm experience together.
