Shannon Elizabeth is ready to take control of her Hollywood image by joining OnlyFans.

The *American Pie* star, 52, is now on the provocative social media platform in an effort to create on her own terms and show "a more sexy side no one has seen," she told PEOPLE.

"I've spent my entire career working in Hollywood, where other people controlled the narrative and the outcome of my career. This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more sexy side no one has seen, and being closer to my fans," Elizabeth said, noting that fans can start subscribing to her page on Thursday.

She added, "I'm choosing OnlyFans because it allows me to connect directly with my audience, create on my own terms, and just be free. I really do think this is the future."

Elizabeth is best known for playing sexy foreign exchange student Nadia in the *American Pie *franchise, which began with a 1999 movie about a group of high school friends on a mission to lose their virginity before graduation.

Despite the film catapulting her to sex symbol status, Elizabeth insists that she wasn't aiming for that trajectory when she started her career.

“For me, it was a role, it was playing a character,” the actress told *Entertainment Tonight *in March. “But even in my real life, I'm just not the girl who likes to be naked, ever. I feel very vulnerable.”

“Even at home I'm always covered up,” she continued. “Like I have friends that sleep in the nude and they don't mind walking around that way. That was never me, but because that was kind of my coming out, everyone assumed I was that girl.”

She still appreciates the raunchy teen comedy* *for what it allowed her to accomplish, including appearing in films like *Scary Movie*, *Thirteen Ghosts*, and *Love Actually*.

"Everything I've done in my life, it's because of *American Pie*," she told *ET*.

Elizabeth even said she would return for another sequel to check in on Nadia.

"I would love to see a film where it’s all about Nadia back in her home country and what she does there, and following her around, seeing her day-to-day life now," Elizabeth told Fox News on Sunday, referring to her character being back in Czechia. "I think that would be so much fun."
