Alex Warren made his Grammy Awards debut Sunday with some technical difficulties that the singer would like to explain.
When the "Ordinary" singer hit the stage during the night's medley featuring his fellow Best New Artist nominees, he notably fell a half a beat behind his backup singers during the chorus. Warren could be seen fiddling with his mic pack before he took out his in-ear devices as he made his way through the audience and onto a raised platform, where he finished out his brief performance.
It was those exact in-ear devices that caused the difficulties, Warren revealed with a post to his TikTok page. "When you're performing at the Grammys and all you hear is this in your in ears," Warren wrote alongside a clip of the layered version of his song.
"This would only happen to me..." he captioned the video.
Despite the momentary mishap, Warren's comments were full of support from his fans. Famous friend Trisha Paytas wrote, "You actually crushed it tho!!!!!!" Another user added, "Dude it was a tech error and u recovered like a champ don't beat urself up."

The singer admitted he was starstruck, especially since knowing that Justin Bieber was sitting two tables away from him.
Warren revealed himself to be a huge fan of the *Swag *musician, naming him as the celebrity he'd want a chance to interact with while mingling with some of music's biggest names.

"I used to email Justin Bieber growing up," he explained. "I saw he would skateboard and I was a competitive skateboarder growing up, and so I'd be like, 'Oh, we should skate sometime,' thinking he would read it. And I had to delete all of my DMs the minute this all happened."
The "Ordinary" singer quipped that there was "like 400 of them," before he got rid of the evidence, adding, "There's probably a restraining order I don't know about."
While Warren didn't take home a gramophone at the end of the night — British singer Olivia Dean ended up won Best New Artist — at least he got to see Bieber make his first appearance at the ceremony since 2022 and give the audience a performance EW dubbed one of the best moments of the night.
