- The Golden Globes introduced a controversial new Best Podcast category.

The 2026 Golden Globes nominations have arrived in A-list style this awards season.
With help from celebrity presenters Marlon Wayans and Skye P. Mitchell, the Golden Globes nominations are set to usher major contenders into the ongoing awards race.
This year's nominations come amid a drastically changing identity for the Golden Globes, which previously dissolved its storied Hollywood Foreign Press Association voting body, and implemented new diversity standards and categories — including this year's controversial Best Podcast bracket, for which Joe Rogan, Ben Shapiro, Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, and Amy Poehler all qualified.

Earlier this year, *Emilia Pérez* dominated the 2025 Golden Globes ceremony, racking up four wins — including Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy, while star Zoe Saldaña won Best Supporting Actress ahead of winning in the same category at the Oscars.
Still, neither *Emilia Pérez *nor the Globes' 2025 winner for Best Motion Picture — Drama (*The Brutalist*) repeated at the Oscars, with Sean Baker's *Anora* ultimately winning Best Picture and star Mikey Madison besting presumed frontrunner (and Golden Globe winner) Demi Moore (*The Substance*) for Best Actress.
